Abstracted Landscapes
About
In 2010, I commissioned Alexandra to make a landscape in seven parts inspired by the Malvern Hills and the seven divisions of the day defined by the life of monks living according to the rule of St. Benedict. And so she sees a section of those hills which have inspired so many artists and poets as the light of day falls to change them and give them new meaning. She is very aware that she has to inject an element of time passing into the manifestation of landscape and that the changing light is all important.
Alexandra's first solo exhibition provides proof of her commitment to the art of painting, I look forward to the way she uses her love of landscape.
