This exhibition brings together the work of Alice Hartley and Alex Simpson, two friends and artists who share a similar sensibility making emotive, expressive and intuitive works.
About
Having drifted in and out of each others lives for nearly three decades they connect once again to present their first show together, We Sit Together For a Minute.A conversation ensues between the lively gestural mark making and sensual quality of Hartley’s printmaking and the ambiguity, fluidity and visceral nature of Simpson’s works.Through this collection of works they explore the body, fragmented landscapes, memory and the anxiety and uncertainty of these times.
