In his second solo show with GX Gallery, British artist Alex Morton continues to capture the powerfully meditative quality of the ocean.
About
Alex Morton fell in love with the ocean as a child and in this solo exhibition he attempts to convey the relaxation and exhilaration he feels in his favourite place. His work incorporates sand, pebbles, seaweed, and other materials he finds on the beaches of north Cornwall to create multi-layered and highly textured pieces that lift the painting off the canvas and draw the viewer in. Though not formally trained he continues to learn through experimentation and attempts to create further texture and develop new techniques that capture the raw energy of the ocean and satisfies the eye.
