About
A careful selection of shots taken over a twenty-year period; a "Small Anthology" able to best represent the visual paths taken by Alessandro Di Giugno during his well-established career as a photographer.
"These are apparently unrelated images, perhaps even contradictory, and yet tenaciously connected to each other by a logical and diachronic connection that makes them weave a mosaic that is consistently composed into a stylistic and narrative one.
A young man surreally disguised as an elephant; solitary trees plastically highlighted by a chiaroscuro shadow; the members of a coven that exhibit the symbols of their belonging with unusual pride; all shots unrelated at first glance - if observed with a superficial approach and key to interpretation -, stages of an artistic journey that would seem to be charachterized by randomness and extemporaneousness; and yet they are nothing more than chapters of a single and coherent narrative, where the peculiar search for a perceptible aesthetic homogeneity acts as the binding and guiding connection of an acute of what is in the existential, social and environment of the contemporary."
