About
Aleksandra's work reflects themes of emotional landscapes, it represents artistic views of both; the physical landscape vs internal emotions and ongoing interaction between.
Her practice is influenced by the improvisation and spontaneity of the Abstract Expressionist movement. Paintings are made through the use of energetic brushstrokes, gestural marks, and random colors applied to large canvases, using essences of her personal geography and emotional history.
These techniques are fundamental for releasing ideas and allowing the paint to reveal whatever forms materialize. Freedom from restraints, plans, and rigid expectations are driven by the intensity of exploring the grey areas, where the real and tangible meets the inner world allowing the narrative of the artist's emotional landscape to transform itself into abstract imagery.
