The drawings here are part of a larger group collectively called "The Main Lake," which was originally shown in 2018 at the Rohkunstbau exhibition in Brandenburg at Schloss Lieberose, where they were exhibited lying flat under glass in 2 large table vitrines. 

The work is a collection of small drawings that Laura Bruce started making in 2009 and continues today. The series grows with time. The small one of a ship was drawn by her father. And although there is a mix of "fantasy-like" figures and more realistic ones, it deals in part with memory, like a photo album.

Laura Bruce is an American contemporary artist living in Berlin.
