Rooted in the gestural materiality of paint, her work has developed a concoction for the indulgence and violation of it
About
A debut solo show by artist Aisling Drennan.
This latest body of work will encompass the main concerns within Aisling Drennan's practice. Rooted in the gestural materiality of paint, her work has developed a concoction for the indulgence and violation of it. The process is intuitive, yet analytical until resolve is determined through contradictory relationships found on her canvas; playful even irresponsible at times.
Drennan (b.1982) holds a Masters in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, UK and a Bachelor in Fine Art [First Class HONS] from GMIT, IRE. She is the recipient of the Freyer Award from the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) Art Awards and is currently listed as one to watch in State Magazine (issue 23). Exhibits include Summer Arts Prize (finalist), Lacey Contemporary Gallery, London, Sunday In The Park With Ed, Display Gallery, London, London Irish Art, Central Hall Museum, London.
