UNITOM in partnership with Ducie Street Warehouse presents ‘Afterglow’, a solo exhibition by Manchester-born and based artist PIICASA.
‘Afterglow’ is a survey of perception. The show combines two series of works: linear and circular pieces. Piicasa investigates optical sensations through the use of visual effects such as recurring simple forms and rhythmic patterns, vibrating colour combinations, and foreground-background confusion. A combination of two mediums is present: oil on linen, and spray paint on wood.
Callum Simmons, better known as Piicasa, is a graduate of the Graphic Communication course at Central Saint Martins, London, and his main interest lies in the exploration of dimensionality and colour in painting.
