About
AFTER YEARS IN CARS | An Exploration of the Feminine Political Voice
Katie McGroarty is a Scottish artist exploring class, the strength of the female voice in politics, the political act of reclaiming femininity and how institutions use their authority to stifle strong female voices.
McGroarty uses drawing, painting, and performance within her practice to explore class structures, masculinity, power structures and the invented depictions of lower-class Scottish people. Her durational performance for the exhibition will include two-weeks where she ceases all communication with men.
