As the current Web 2.0 hype begins to wane, After the Net (2.0) reflects upon the utopian promises of the Internet and technological progress. The exhibition explores systems of control and presents art works that draw attention to histories of network culture: from cybernetics to free and open source software, and social networking platforms such as Second Life.
This is the second iteration of the exhibition, first commissioned by Observatori 9th Festival Internacional de Investigación Artà stica de Valencia in 2008, with additional works selected especially for Peninsula Arts Gallery.
In 2010 the exhibition tours to Mexico as part of the International Congress on Web Studies at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
