In the heart of Tottenham, see a rare archive of portraits of people of African and Caribbean descent in Victorian Britain as they emerge in a new public site installation.

The images, drawn from Autograph ABP’s Exhibition In A Box, will be projected onto the back-facing façade of the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, visible from dusk until dawn for five nights.

Autograph ABP unearthed these archival images during our three-year research project The Missing Chapter. We’re now taking them out of the archive, and into London’s streets.

Presented in collaboration with Bernie Grant Arts Centre, this is the last of three projections this month in HoxtonIslington, and Tottenham.

Supported by:

Part of The Missing Chapter programme, supported by Heritage Lottery Fund. Developed in association with and the generous support of the Hulton Archive, a division of Getty Images. Supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

Presented in collaboration with the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, London.

Projected by Creative Staging.
