About
To coincide with the gallery’s John Bratby exhibition professional photographer, Tony Tulloh, will be leading an inspiring photography workshop focussing on Bratby’s haunts around Hastings and the scenes that he depicted or was familiar with during his lifetime.
Participants will meet at Jerwood Gallery for a brief introduction to John Bratby. Tony will then take you on a walk with your cameras to Bratby’s house, The Cupola, on Belmont Road and other sites in Hastings which influenced his work. You will have the chance to re-create them photographically, then return to the gallery via the East Hill.
On your return to the gallery, you will have guided tour around the Bratby exhibition by a member of the gallery team.
Back in the studio you will discuss the photos you have taken, the insights you have learnt about Bratby’s life and work, as well as photographic techniques and styles. There will also be a chance to draw some scenes from your photographs.
