Performance Management: Panel Discussion
19 Feb 2016
ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts)
London, United Kingdom
Acts Re-Acts returns for a 3rd year, with a month-long ‘laboratory’ of performance, new media, workshops, discussions, events, interventions, seminars and installations.
Speaking at Acts Re-Acts 2, Claire Bishop, art historian and critic, calls for ‘rethinking the history of twentieth-century art through the lens of theatre rather than painting...’. Acts Re-Acts 3 aims to respond to her proposal by stimulating discourse between students and staff across UAL and other, like-minded institutions who are making, thinking or writing about performance in fine art and theatre.
The month-long laboratory will launch on 19 February with Performance Management, a day-long event at the ICA including a master-class with Wimbledon’s Practitioner in Residence Marvin Gaye Chetwynd, and panel discussion with Fine Art Programme Director Lois Rowe.
Contributors: Cradeaux Alexander, Baseless Fabric Theatre, David Bloor & Josh Gardner, Leena Chauhan, Rosemary Cronin, James Cross & Des Truscott, Monika Dorniak, Claudia Kappenberg, Richard Layzell, Benjamin Martin, Emily Orley, Alicia Paz, David Somlo, Michael Spencer, Peter Stickland, Jennet Thomas
Curated by the Acts Re-Acts Creative Team: Simon Betts, Jane Collins, Lois Rowe, Peter Farley, Esther Armstrong
