About
Showcasing the artwork of UK-based artist Anna Chudnovskaya, ActiveBase Art aspires to collaborate with charitable organisations to direct a creative and sustainable social change. Partnering scientific specialism with the creative process, we develop inter-disciplinary communication of contemporary social dialogue.
Artist Statement
Anna Chudnovskaya is a UK-based visual artist with a scientific background. Her specialisms are inter-disciplinary, combining academic achievements as a Master of Physics and PhD in Economics with creative, cultural and humanitarian studies.
Anna’s practice is guided by an excitement for a holographic universe, in which we can absorb information, sounds and colours as if they were a breath of air. The execution of her work is informed by a synthesis of European and Asian arts education, which is further enhanced by my relationship with music.
Anna’s paintings are predominantly organic subjects, display with a colour pallet which reflects the aesthetic of the information age. Experiments with translucent layers of acrylic colours and a flexible canvas have prompted the development of her Genuine Profiles methodology, in which she begins a painting by putting the canvas on to the physical subject to capture the naturally occurring shapes. The geographical locations of Genuine Profile paintings are often distant and hard to reach, further defining the creative process. Anna is passionate about the element of travel and authenticity of recording a location.
