About
The Suñol Foundation presents ACT 39: Antoni Abad, a project designed specifically for the Nivell Zero, which includes the actions carried out by the artist Antoni Abad (Lleida, 1956) from the 90s. These works are directly related to research personal carried out by Abad on the concepts and uses of the measures, the language and the relationship between them.
In 1992 Antoni Abad met Josep Suñol in the spaces of the Passeig de Gràcia that would eventually become the Suñol Foundation, and that at that time were not yet open to the public. There he was able to discover the Josep Suñol Collection in the middle of the configuration process. As previously he had done with other elements of everyday life, he made an installation with metric tapes around the work of Antoni Tàpies, Butaca (1987), which is part of the Collection and which was precisely exposed at that time. This work is one of those that can be observed in the sample presented in the Nivell Zero.
The exhibition has been curated by Eugeni Bonet, who has recovered an original text of 1995, Pesos y medidas, in which he describes the work of Abad. It has also been published a publication made in digital format containing the works present in the sample and a text of the curator, which can be downloaded from the website of the Fundació Suñol.
