About
Stephanie vandem second solo show in Aberdeen investigates the issues of privacy and personal spaces, focusing on the tensions between the 'private & public' within highly visible public environments.
For this series of work the artist explores the 'Streets' environment and how individuals negotiate their basic humanity whilst in the presence of strangers. Sound artist Francesco Sani beautiful and unique sound piece especially composed for the show enhances the sense of 'environment' and narrative portrayed in the paintings.
Inspired by the large composition of the Renaissance period, the artist continues on her own path of semi-abstraction in search of her own powerful figures and narratives, and explores the potential of creating a more immersive audience experience by working across-platforms.
