To close their show ‘Abstract Vernacular - Continuing Conversations’, Talking Sculpture Making (TSM) are having a free public discussion, chaired by curator and writer Natalie Rudd. The exhibiting artists will join Natalie and the audience in discussing three themes.

Each time TSM exhibits they host free public discussions, aiming to provide an inclusive environment for audiences to engage and respond on their terms.
The discussion for Abstract Vernacular - Continuing Conversations is offering an exchange of ideas around the languages of contemporary abstract art and the evolving nature of art practices, including the parallels between abstract painting and sculpture. The three themes are:

Natalie Rudd is a curator and writer. In her former role as Senior Curator of the Arts Council Collection, she managed the sculpture collection at Longside, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and produced many UK touring exhibitions, including ‘Breaking the Mould: Sculpture by Women since 1945‘. Natalie has published widely on art and artists including Tess Jaray, Permindar Kaur and Veronica Ryan.
TSM in collaboration with York St John University have published a 28 page booklet to accompany the exhibition for which Natalie has written the introduction. Copies are available at the event, donations welcome!
