Take the plunge into the world of abstract shape and form by exploring a range of painterly techniques and approaches.
About
Drawing upon source material, you'll pare it back to its visual essence through the process of abstraction, with an emphasis upon shape, colour and texture. This class will give you the tools to create your own abstract works and learn how to create visually balanced and striking works. No prior painting experience is necessary!
You will learn about the importance of the relationship between image and materials and will explore the process of abstracting images from source material. During this course you will aim to investigate and develop personal themes through this approach to image-making.
This class is suitable for beginners or more advanced students. A taster day is the perfect way to try out an art class.
