About

Helge Fleming was “merely a supporter of the arts”, as he called himself modestly. He was our friend, an agent provocateur and a great artist. His death, three years ago, left us behind with his dedicated thoughts not only about work as an artist, but about the art market and about life per sé as well. We learned and became inspired with and by him, in long, dark & drunken nights all over the country – and at Berlin’s legendary “Altes Europa” bar ultimately.

In his final years he helped colleagues to find the right way of presentation for their artwork, being the owner of Janecki Bilderrahmen in Mitte. Neither forgotten nor any less exciting as the art of his celebrity colleagues are his own artworks, which will be displayed in a monographic show, curated with the help of his circle of friends. ”Absolut Helge” at Epicentro art is an exhibition aggregating works from private collections – on display from August 8th (until 29th).
