Aaron Siskind. L'épure photographique
27 Oct 2018 – 22 Dec 2018
About
The work of Aaron Siskind (1903-1991) can not be reduced to a photographic genre. Alongside an outstanding career of teacher who has marked several generations of photographers, this great figure in the history of American photography has not stopped surprising. Between a very documentary vision with the Photo League and a much more plastic research related to abstract expressionist painters, his photographic practice embraced different styles and jostled many prejudices.
We are very happy to present to the gallery some forty photographs related to his experiments, to his attention to tiny things, precarious forms, bits of language from the vestiges of time. A trajectory for the least unique with a work that still remains today, a very modern.
