About

Multidisciplinary artist Aaron Axelrod presents his newest exhibition String Theory which is a series of mixed media abstract paintings with neon light accents. The opening will take place Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at flagship gallery and innovative jewelry design collective Roseark located at 1111 N. Crescent Heights Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90036. The opening will feature a melodic harp performance by Jane Grothe Ferruzzo and libations by El Silencio Mezcal .

String Theory is an experiment in color, composition and light. Derived from an idea propagated in theoretical and particle physics, String Theory is said to be a candidate for the "theory of everything". In modern science, “strings” which are similar and smaller than “atoms” are what is thought to be the building blocks of all matter and gravity in the known universe. This idea has inspired Axelrod's current body of work, with the neon light representing the "strings" and the underlying paintings illustrating the visual abstractions of gravity. The paintings are meant to portray all matter at the most foundational levels which are depicted by Axelrod as slushy, oozing, melting puddles of everything.
