About
During the Israeli invasion of southern Lebanon in 1982 an Israeli fighter pilot was ordered to bomb a school but refused and instead dumped his bombs into the sea. Artist Akram Zaatari after hearing about this story decided to make a film and has shown this work at the 55th Venice Biennale where he was representing Lebanon. The film “Letter to a Refusing Pilot” is focused on this Israeli pilot’s act of conscientious objection and will be shown alongside the original installation at Thomas Dane Gallery this autumn.
