An International symposium and roundtable discussion organised by AA|FAB at the Architectural Association adressing emerging use of digital design and fabrication technology in architecture

About

AA|FAB is a research initiative led by curators Alan Dempsey and Kristine Mun at the Architectural Association. Through an annual awards programme the initiative facilitates novel research into the emerging application of digital design and fabrication processes. It further recognises completed work, which makes a contribution to the field of research and future architectural production and practice. Invited speakers from around the globe will discuss the use of innovative design, collaboration and fabrication technologies in their work, and assess the potential implications they see for the future practice of architecture. The eight FAB Award recipients presenting their recent work include: Shin Egashira; Mehran Gharleghi & Amin Sadeghi; Jason Griffiths; Benjamin Aranda; Josiah Barnes and Pablo Rica; Andrew Vrana; Chris Bosse; Nicolas Bruscia. The symposium will be a half day event with introduction and discussion moderation by curators Alan Dempsey and Kristine Mun. The afternoon will conclude with a round table discussion with the Director of Architectural Association, Brett Steele. The AA FAB Programme has been generously supported by Land Securities, Adams Kara Taylor, Arup and Established & Sons.
