About
Four photographers from different cultural and social backgrounds undertake individual approaches to capture the various facets of the sacred and transcendent in the three Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam). Together they address the question of how religion and faith change our personal perspective on life. The four photographic projects focus on intimate and public worship practices, the personal experiences of a refugee who escaped a modern religious war as well as the role of religion in maximum security prisons in the U.S. The artists and the gallery would like to encourage an inter-religious dialogue with the visitors and the media through this group exhibition.
On 1st of February 7pm, photographer Dirk-Martin Heinzelmann will present his multimedia collage Journey to Jerusalem, an insight into the various spiritual practices in the religious capital. The presentation is followed by an Artist Talk with the photographers of the group exhibition.
