A visit to SØR Rusche Sammlung Oelde/Berlin has become a fixture in Berlin’s calendar of art and cultural events. Thomas Rusche gives art lovers, a glass of cool SØR sparkling wine in hand, a personal tour of his private chambers.
About
Contrary to standard white cube perspectives or precisely thought out hangings familiar from the monumental halls, museums, and spaces of art collectors, here you can visit a place where art is lived with: there’s a Neo Rauch on the floor leaning against an antique English bookshelf, next to it there’s a newcomer like Steven Viezens and from above a landscape of Frans de Momper from the 17th century looks down fondly on the chance arrangement. From the kitchen to the guest bathroom or the bedroom: art can be found everywhere and eagerly awaits discovery by the visitors. With knowledge, elegant humour, and full of passion, Thomas Rusche tells a story about each of his works, sometimes scholarly, sometimes philosophical, sometimes anecdotal, but never forgetting to be the consummate host.
