Laura’s work is influenced by her family history and the fact that much of it has been lost, leaving a blank space where memories and stories should exist. Old family photographs and objects which are selected to be passed down have been her starting point in trying to piece together a narrative of the past. New memories are created in her work that convey a sense of the place or the person to which the objects originally belonged.
Laura graduated from Grays School of Art in 2014 and currently lives and works in Aberdeen.
‘A Tall Tale’ opens on Wednesday 29th June and runs to 12th August.
