INSPIRED BY A SERIES OF WALKS ALONG THE RIVERS OUSE AND FOSS IN AND AROUND YORK, THIS EXHIBITION SHOWCASES THE STUNNING RESULTS OF A COLLABORATION BETWEEN ARTIST JAKE ATTREE AND POET ROBERT POWELL.
This is an exhibition which explores both a physical-geographical space as well as the real and abstract stories of the people that live, or once lived, within these places. It is also, quite literally, an exploration of the relationship and interplay between the visual & the written word: the boundaries that differentiate a book from a work of art or a series of words from a drawing...the symbols of creative communication.
The exhibition marks the launch of a limited edition artists’ book produced by Attree & Powell in the form of a box - A Small Box of River. Signed copies of the artists' book (in a limited run of just 150) will be available for purchase throughout the period of the show, whilst the original drawings produced throughout the project by Jake Attree will be showcased within the Gallery alongside lithograph prints of Attree's drawings and Powell's accompanying poems.
To pre-order your signed copy of the book please email info@lotteinch.co.uk
