Yury Egorov, with Vasili Shukshin, Nonna Mordyukova, Mikhail Ulyanov. A woman, who lost her husband in the War dedicates her life to the kolkhoz. She, Sasha Potapova, is disliked by her neighbours for her directness and uncompromising character, but is nevertheless elected as the head of the kolkhoz. Her sudden love for Danilov (M.Ulyanov) makes her life happy but more difficult. The role of Sasha Potapova was written for Nonna Mordyukova, with her personal life story in mind, and she created a loved and well-remembered screen character.
