Design and manufacturing consultant, Matter of Stuff returns to sketch for London Design Festival, presenting , a curated exhibition set to transform the Mayfair venue
About
"A Second Life" includes an installation by RIBA award-winning architects PiM.Studio who are taking over the whole of sketch's reception hall; also showing are works by Neil Brodie the renowned founder of self-designed and self-produced furniture brand, Made in Ratio; Matteo Fogale in a collaboration with stylist and costume designer Emma Archer; and the London creative duo Marina Dragomirova & Iain Howlett, founders of Studio Furthermore.
Matter of Stuff presented the designers with 5,000 cylindrical Burbridge pine dowels which had been used for an installation at their pop up work shop in 2018...
" Each designer succeeded to inject new life into a material destined to go to waste, creating varied and extraordinary sculptures.
Their success is a statement that goes beyond the importance of sustainable design practices,” says Matter of Stuff co-founder, Simona Auteri, “through four different iterations of reuse, we seek to redefine waste as a legitimate raw material with infinite potential for creative renewal.”
