A Room Of One's Own
About
As women, they are used to using their body that is the same as their mothers', but trying to imitate their fathers' words. This perplexity is the inspiration for this exhibition.
In Virginia Woolf's writing, for women, A Room of One's Own not only means an independent material space, but also represents the right to think independently in spirit. In this room, they do not need an arm to lean on, they can be accustomed to writing freely, fearlessly, and honestly what they think, and they do not need to look at the relationship between different genders, but at their relationship to the real world.
Female curators and female artists are not only female creators, but also observers and documenters of the world from a female perspective. Each work represents a point of light on the spectrum of female experience, condensing the bittersweet lives of women. We look forward to seeing more possibilities from these observations, reflections, and personal experiences.
