About
In A Room of One’s Own, Virginia Woolf emphasised women need to have a certain amount of income and a private space to prosper. In this exhibition, the curator used three new flats designed for three young women as the backdrop for the artworks, aims to explore Woolf’s concept in reality. The exhibition consists of five emerging artist’s works, their works are poems that ponder on stories of goddesses, reincarnation, identity struggle and careful observations of life.
This exhibition is a collaboration between Fang Ting and Wenyi Shi, who is the funder of Artists In The UK LTD.
Curator Introduction: Wenyi Shi is a curator with background in theatre costume design and painting, she often thinks outside the box and refuses traditional white cube gallery spaces in exchange of living spaces and communal places with a soul. Her curations often look effortless, in fact all of them are carefully crafted, and the work went behind the organisation and running of the exhibitions is immense.
