In a gutted DIY/Homecraft shop, paintings based on bathroom layouts and oval mirrors are occasionally interrupted by a skate, parachutists, Malevich and more.
About
In six rooms internal windows are sealed and painted out. Paintings of noses with nostrils exposed act as apertures. Paintings are arranged to mirror each other in six rooms, from domestic spaces to a shooting gallery.
Stephen Nicholas is a John Moores painting prize winner and his work has been shown at the Himalayan Museum of Contemporary Art (Shanghai), Walker Art Gallery (Liverpool), Gimpel Fils Gallery, (London), De Fabriek (Eindhoven) and others.
