Who is this COSE TDS character? ..some might ask.

Well, for starters, my origins actually began when my dad decided to give me a sketch pad at the tender age of around 8 years of age. Immediately, l fell in love with art. My dad planted the seed, l continued to nurture it till l went to high school in which I began meeting Graffiti artists, l was introduced to the world of graffiti by another kid in my neighborhood that went by the name “BEO ROC” in fact he not only introduced me into the world of graffiti he also took me to my first graffiti writing escapades on the NYC Transit in 1981. 

I loved the so called vandalism so much that I went every weekend to the lay-ups. The “Lay-ups” is where NYC Transit would park the trains during off peak hours. Eventually, I became so well known after many “Lay-up” writing escapades that l was eventually on the radar of two infamous vandal squad detectives known simply as “Hicky and Ski” . 

I was finally arrested by these detectives and was dubbed one of the most prolific graffiti artists in 1983 by the “Daily News “ . 

Today, I have transitioned to creating paintings on canvas and exhibiting in art galleries for the world to enjoy. Art is not only my passion, it is also very therapeutic in my life.

LEIA SANDS is an International Fine Art Painter in many different disciplines. Leia was born in Florida, but is a resident of New York City. She is Self-Taught & has been drawing / painting since she was old enough to pick up a crayon drawing on the walls. Leia Sands gets her natural artistic abilities from both of her parents who are self-taught artists as well. She intuitively paints how she feels & whatever subject that comes to mind the moment a canvas is put in front of her and the music starts playing. 

She's quoted as saying "I paint my thoughts and make them beautiful as my paintbrush is my pen". Leia doesn't stick to 1 style of painting as her creativity & passion is what drives her to create her beautiful thought-provoking masterpieces as she sees it. She has paintings in Abstract Art, Pop Art, Landscape, Figurative, Realism, Contemporary & Modern Art. 

Leia Sands is known for her bright bold choice of colors that jump right off the canvas to catch your eye with esoteric, mystical, and positive subject matter.Leia Sands painting "Beautiful Chaos" made Creative Artist Magazine Cover twice & is a featured artist in 2 issues of Creative Artist Magazine for their 2020 Fall & Winter Print Editions in which both issues SOLD OUT for the 1st time in Creative Artist Magazine history!
