Join award winning Illustrator and educator, Merlin Strangeway and delve into the fascinating world of caricature illustration.
Explore a rich, historical practice that has seen a huge resurgence in popularity in recent years. Drawing from observation and objects from Rhythm & Reaction: The Age of Jazz in Britain, participants will then be treated to a sweeping tour through the medium, followed by a hands-on, light-hearted chance to learn the joyful art of exaggerated portraiture.
No drawing experience is necessary, just a desire to get stuck in! All art materials will be provided though participants are invited to bring sketchbooks.

About the tutor:
Merlin is an award winning Illustrator and Educator, with a passion for using art as a tool to delineate and delight. She has taught over 10,000 students in the last ten years and is currently completing a Medical Art Postgraduate with the Medical Art Education Trust. She is the recipient of the Barber’s Company Award 2016-2017 and 2017-2018, and the Ronald Raven Award (travelling scholarship within the field of Medical Art) 2017-2018. Selection of previous clients include: Tate Modern, British Library, The Design Museum, Hampton Court Palace, The Tower of London, Time Out, John Lewis and Latitude Festival.
