STAR IN YOUR OWN HEIST MOVIE ON THE STREETS OF BRIGHTON!

About

Become the star of your own heist movie as Brighton's internationally renowned digital artists Blast Theory put you in the heat of the action. Simply register your mobile phone number online, and wait. Your phone rings. The action begins. A Machine to See With was a major hit at this year's Sundance Film Festival, and this is your chance to experience it at Brighton Digital Festival. Blending secret missions and high adrenalin, you will be in an interactive heist movie playing the lead role. A Machine to See With takes part in the streets of Brighton and is played through your mobile phone and your mind. Book and sign up with your mobile number and then on the day, you receive a call, arrive at your allotted street corner and receive instructions. From hiding money to meeting up with a partner in crime, it's up to you to deal with a bank robbery and its aftermath. After proving a hit in several cities in the USA, this is the English premiere of Blast Theory's hit locative cinema project for pedestrians and their mobile phones. Perfectly resonating with Lighthouse's 2011-12 theme, Beyond Cinema, A Machine to See With is all about cinema. The artists thought about the city as a cinematic space and considered how screens might be inserted into the streets or carried through them. Their approach was to think of our eyes as the screens themselves, and put you at the centre of a unique unfolding drama across the city. Dates: 1-3, 5, 8-10, 13-17, 22-24 September Part of Brighton Digital Festival - http://brightondigitalfestival.co.uk/
