Few artists have Ann Oram's mastery of paint. This exhibition - A Journey in Colour | from still life to Cathedral - celebrates the latest work from this remarkable artist.
About
There is a joy in Ann Oram’s work. Not just from her obvious skills. Indeed, few artists in Britain are as technically masterful as Oram. Paint flows with deceptive ease - colour, structure and form; everything there and perfectly placed, but don’t be fooled. This level of understanding has taken many years to achieve and even more miles.
Oram has travelled the world looking for subjects. European cathedrals, rural India and the seasons captured beautifully in the Colourist tradition. In this exhibition, on a coloured ground, Oram goes back to still lives. She has never really left them, for this is where colour and composition are in her control. Relax, open your eyes, and enjoy the wonders.
