John Bratby is best known for his paintings portraying everyday life with thickly applied bold colours. His drawing is less well known but equally fabulous: vigorous, confident and brilliantly observed.
About
In the spirit of Bratby, Ed Boxall will fill the studio at the gallery with Bratby-esque objects to inspire your drawings - furniture, stuffed animals, exotic fruit and plants.
Bratby loved to draw clothes too, so there will also be lots of fabulous clothes to dress up in and draw each other.
Ed will be on hand to teach lots of the basic drawing skills that were the core of art education in Bratby's youth and also encourage the passion for pattern and bold line that makes Bratby's drawing unique.
This workshop is a must for any young person with an interest in drawing. The workshop will be fun and very positive- all abilities very welcome!
