About

There is an interesting text by Bruno Latour * in which, when describing Saraceno’s work (Galaxies Forming along Filaments, Like Droplets along the Strands of a Spider's Web), he remembers the guilty pleasure of pulsing one of those filaments made of elastic thread. Latour describes the vibration of the thread to state that there is a great an unintended social theory provided in Saraceno’s work. However, it is also interesting how the vibration plays with our perception of reality; as if it belonged to the Heisenberg’s uncertainty theory we see the thread occupying two places at the same time but it is in none of them or it is in all of them at the same time.

It is at this point where quantum theory meets our relationship with artists. Yes, the artists and not the art. Those amazing individuals immersed in their passion of widening the limits when reading life, those magicians dedicated to offer new ways of perceiving ourselves from different positions who connect us to our abjected self through their creations. Who are they?, which are they passions?, what do they fear of?, what do they bet, get or leave behind to offer us those exclusive trips throughout the void?, how do they perceive themselves?

This exhibition is conceived as a group of windows to stare into the rich inner universe of the exhibiting artists by showing works that are linked to their own lives and experiences. It is unclear who belongs to who in this relationship or who sets the gravity in this play of filaments, networks and galaxies, but we perceive the vibration and the resonance of their lives in their works as it happens with the elastic thread of Saraceno’s installation.
