From the 1950’s through the 1990’s, before the time of the DSLR and the HD smartphone camera, there was a golden era of film photography covering music’s greats. Epic moments of musicians in their element were captured through film, representing and preserving the time period. Many have said film photography has become a dying art form, however William Benrubi has curated an exhibition of his own black and white film works of legendary musicians and DJ’s, reminding people just how amazing the analogue art form is, and has been.
“A Funky Exhibition” pays homage to all the great funk music that has been produced over the decades, along with the photography that has the surrounded it. The show will feature all original works of new and old funk artists from 2015, including CHIC feat. Nile Rogers, Gilles Peterson, GRiZ,
