The simplicity of nature is a constant source of inspiration for Michael’s paintings, capturing the shifting light, tumbling clouds, a crashing wave and the tranquillity of open spaces.

In this exhibition Michael’s aim is to capture the essence of distant view, capturing the way light interacts with the landscape and nature. 

Michael likes to work from memory, giving him more freedom and expression, and the ability to work using bold open brush stokes alongside palette knife mark making, achieving rich textured paintings and creating energy and emotion
