With a consuming passion for British wildlife combined with quirky sense of humour and satire, the main subjects of Jane Ford's paintings are transformed from a natural pose into a completely obscure and unusual setting.
With a consuming passion for British wildlife combined with quirky sense of humour and satire, the main subjects of Jane Ford's paintings are transformed from a natural pose into a completely obscure and unusual setting.
Jane’s paintings all tell a story, a very old fashioned way of painting, so each work might have several connotations, from game birds alighting on pies, to hares transfixed by mirrors, and foxes alluring chickens, all in a humorous framework. The great diversity of British wildlife and the imagination of connecting birds and animals with unrelated objects opens up endless possibilities. The composite parts are then brought together with the naming of the work... it's all in the title!"
A Curious Slice of Wild will epitomize Jane's genre in an exciting collection of new oil paintings and inks. The exhibition runs from 6th-18th of May in East Grinstead and from 20th May-3rd June in Battle. All works are available to purchase.
The collection will also be available to view and buy on the gallery's website from 6th May.Have you been to this event? Share your insights and give it a review below.
