“I THINK WE”RE ALONE NOW????”

About

There doesn't seem to be anyone around

I think we're alone now

The beating of our hearts is the only sound

Tiffany took the words right out of every graduating artist's mouth. But fret not, although it seems hard to believe - Tiffany’s got it wrong this time.

As part of Wimbledon College of Arts’ BA Sculpture degree show 2018, artists Bex Massey and Sarah Roberts (UAL alumni) have been invited to talk about continuing their practice post art school. The Co-founders of SHELF www.shelflondon.com  will also be sharing their own experiences, and that of a few of their artist-led peers surrounding maintaining an artist-led collective.

Stressing  the importance of friends with benefits and DIY as an emerging artist:  ‘Studios,  shows, and start ups, networks and no go areas-we will be sharing what we have learnt and some stuff we’d wish we’d known…’

SHELF is a simple concept of function, support and display- they are currently operating virtual online residencies, a physical residency programme in Snowdonia,Wales; a gallery space in Whitley Bay, Tyneside (Aug 2018); and a project space for solo female shows, Leeds (Sept 2018) as well as examples of nomadic curatorial work.

This event is an open conversation for all and we will be welcoming all your questions.

This event is the first of a two part series of talk organised by Wimbledon College of Arts Sculpture students.
