Highlights from Wakefield’s Collection which has grown through acquisitions and gifts over the past 80 years will be on display. Paintings by The Camden Town Group, Roger Fry and Ben Nicholson, Frank Auerbach and Clare Woods are displayed with sculptures by Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore and recently acquired contemporary works by Eva Rothschild and Anthea Hamilton.
The gift of paintings made to the collection by Sir Alan Bowness, with support of the Art Fund is also on show, featuring work by Alan Davie and other significant abstract artists of the 1960s and 70s such as John Golding and John Hoyland.
