80's to Lately: A Queer Celebration is Hussina Raja’s first solo exhibition inviting audiences to celebrate queer culture during PRIDE
About
Based on her research with queer artists, using various media including a film projection, photography and audio installations; the work shares with its audience intimate profiles of individuals who grew up amidst a defined decade in queer history of progress and setbacks, the 80’s. Juxtaposed alongside them are profiles of a current generation who represent what being queer is today through various interpretations and forms.
Artists: Alexis, Paul Allard, Dean Atta, Lola Clavo, Hannah Holland, Kate Jessop, Francine Merry, Tareq Sayed Rajab De Montford, Terry O’Leary, Andy Polaris, Fabio Santos
Hussina Raja’s artistic approach is based on dialogue, experimentation and working collaboratively in the arts across various disciplines. She is dedicated to creating social arts projects with an ethos to exchange experiences and skillsets, endeavouring to devise bespoke projects through individual and collective creative exploration.
