800 Portraits of the People I Don’t Know, a solo exhibition by Lithuanian-American artist Vytenis Jankunas.
About
Vytenis Jankunas presents two video projections, sharing images of peoples’ lifeworld in New York City, which he has been religiously capturing on his camera for the past few years. In this particular exhibition, Vytenis showcases portraits set in the streets of New York, the city in which he has spent half of his life, where he fell in love with the people, the way they look, the way they dress and the way they talk. He has succeeded in documenting and magnifying them through his lens. Through these images, captured in the vulnerable state of everyday life, the artist tells us the story of his subjects in this unique and culturally diverse city.
