About
72 Wonky Windows is an exhibition of drawings by ‘outsider’ artist @stevexoh. The exhibition is the most extensive collection of Steve’s drawings to date and comprises seventy-two unique windows into his world.
Steve has become well-known for his distinctive black and white drawings, his colourful paintings, his streetart installations and his bizarre conceptual art projects such as the world’s first silent podcast featuring special guests. He has sold his work across all seven continents and exhibited alongside the likes of Pablo Picasso and David Shrigley. Steve’s work has been described as “Art which captures so well how weird and imperfect the world is.”
Steve’s (Not a) Lost Cat poster recently became physically viral with over 4,000 posters spotted in 49 countries around the world (including Antarctica) and his I Don’t Want to be a Cowboy Anymore painting was recently displayed on billboards and digital displays around the UK, being seen by over 80% of the UK population.
@stevexoh says of the exhibition “The exhibition is simply a collection of stuff I drew. There is nothing to ‘get’. No artistic message or need to appreciate or know anything about art. I hope people come along to simply have a look at the work, lose themselves in the variety of weird and wonderful images and find something that makes them think, smile or laugh.
I love the energy and spirit behind Not My Beautiful House so I am excited to bring such a big collection of my drawings to be displayed in their lovely historic gallery space. Small, independent galleries are so important to me so it is a pleasure to be able to partner with them on this.”
72 Wonky Windows is being exhibited at Not My Beautiful House and runs from the 23rd August – 4th September 2022. All exhibits will be for sale along with a range of limited-edition prints. A free to attend private view party, sponsored by Verdant Brewery, takes place on Saturday 27th August from 6-9pm.
