About
Using MRI to calculate the specific mass of six internal organs, Norrie has created objects of equivalent mass drawing upon mythic, medical and metaphoric readings of the brain, heart, lungs, liver, spleen, uterus and the skin. In a series of seven images Norrie has chosen specific visual descriptions of each organ that are subsequently enhanced or displaced in a live act.
Performed over seven nights, 7,013g generates an anatomy using objects and actions such as a chandelier, self-hypnosis, a sunbed, anamorphosis, a hi-vis suit, a crane and conquistador armour to predict, consider and dismember the body both imagined and denied.
