An exhibition by 26 year 2 Fine Art students, in which the work has been made according to self-imposed time limits of 1, 12 or 24 hours; 664 being the total hours taken to produce the work on show.

About

/664 is the second of two Fine Art Spring Shows which will be taking place at Avenue Gallery this March.  The exhibition is being undertaken by second year students as part of their Professional Studies module, and they have not only made the work on display but have also been responsible for all aspects of the exhibition organisation.

The show will contain a wide variety of art works from twenty-six students. The participants sub-divided themselves into three groups, each of which was allocated a different time restraint in which to make work specifically for the exhibition. The time limits set were 1 hour, 12 hours or 24 hours. With each of the twenty-six participants choosing one of these time restraints, the combined working hours came to 664, explaining the exhibition title. The participants were allowed to develop their own motives and themes for the works, but all share the condition of working no longer than their chosen time restraint.

The show will take place at Avenue Gallery within The University of Northampton’s Avenue Campus, with additional works in the corridor and outside courtyard spaces, between 26 March – 1 April (Monday-Friday 10am-4pm).  For more information please contact gallery@northampton.ac.uk or tel. 01604 893050.
