Event map
7 female artists from around Northamptonshire will be showing as a collective next month over the course of two weeks. There will be a mixture of painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, illustration and design.
About
51% of visual artists today are women. Then why are we so underrepresented in the art world?
Only 30% of the artists in the saatchi gallery are women and only 17% of the artists are women in the Tate modern.
"51%" aims to celebrate artistic abilities of female artists in Northamptonshire and show that female artists deserve just as much representation as male artists.
The artists exhibiting will be: Leonie Weston, Hollie Armstrong, Jayme Amanda Mccormick, Sai Stephenson, Sarah Jay Roberts, Ellie Bea Mcbrearty & Robyn Park.
