50:50 Celebrating Fifty Years of the Printmakers Council

We are delighted to welcome the Printmakers Council to the New Ashgate Gallery to host a selected exhibition in celebration of their 50th anniversary.  Their members have been invited to submit original prints that respond to the title 50:50. Examples of work considered include a print measuring 50 cm or based on equal halves, a happy medium or a fifty percent chance.

‘As a child you may remember trying linocut at school, but there is more than you can imagine to the possibilities to original printmaking.  Margaret Ashman, Chairman of the Printmakers Council combines photography, fabrics, and even wallpaper to construct her elegant etchings.’
